Studio

A studio that stopped debating

Nord is a product studio in Ittigen near Bern. We work AI-native: strategy, design and engineering do not run in sequence, they run in the same pass.

Design principles 03

Swiss precision

A clear grid, generous whitespace, typographic hierarchy. No decoration for its own sake — every element has to earn its place.

Dark as the ground

Light type on a dark ground is the identity, not an option. The light appearance exists because reading in daylight has to work too.

Mono, serif, sans

Mono for labels, numbers and navigation — that is the engineering voice. Serif for headlines, because a report needs authority. Sans for body copy, because it is meant to be read.

Stack behind this site
Framework
Astro 5
Zero JavaScript by default. Interactive parts as islands. We ship HTML, not an SPA.
Styling
Tailwind CSS 4
Custom tokens on a utility base. The same thing that runs in production anyway.
3D
Three.js
Raw Three.js rather than a wrapper, so the draw sits in the same frame as compositing.
Deployment
Cloudflare Pages
Global edge, free TLS, a deploy on every merge. Our standard for years.
Content
Typed data modules
Every entry bilingual and type-checked. Figures on the page are computed from the data so they cannot drift apart.
How we work

How a project runs with us

No pitch theatre and no concept phase that eats three months. We start small, put something usable in front of you early, and build on from there.

  1. 01

    Conversation

An hour spent understanding what you actually need — and saying so plainly if there is a simpler answer than hiring us.

  2. 02

    First version

Within weeks there is something you can use. Not a clickable mock-up — running code on real infrastructure.

  3. 03

    Build-out and operation

We extend what proves itself and keep it running. You own the code and the infrastructure — not a dependency on us.
